With gas prices what they are today using a Realtor to look for your home can save you a lot of money by saving you the hassle of driving all over town looking  at homes that aren’t right for you. A Realtor can run a search of all of the properties availalble in your price range with the exact search criteria you want. You will also save the time and hassle of trying to  search for these homes yourself. A Realtor has access to the largest number of properties available and can see new homes on the market daily, so you can have first pick of the hot new listings.

Life is still good in Vallejo!   We are going through growing pains.   Ultimately, bankruptcy means that we can maintain city services, no bankruptcy means  a reduction of city services.

It remains to be seen what will happen with the process but overall Vallejo remains a great waterfront community that is culturally diverse and in a great geograhical location.

A recent article in Time Magazine (02/25/08)  encouraged buyers  to “Ignore the headlines!   Except this one.”

The  article made the case that now is the time to buy and explored why waiting is not necessarily  a good idea.   A key  point  is that few people have the dscipline to buy when prices are falling, whether stocks, houses, gold or art.   The herd mentality is what keeps many from buying when items are “on sale”.

From my perspective the blood is running in the Vallejo streets and the savvy buyers are on  its scent.   Our house prices have been beaten down and opportunites abound to find a great deal on a home.   If you are financially and emotionally ready to buy a home there is alot to choose from and not alot of competition.

It does take some work to find the gems and best deals but that is where doing some footwork pays off in long term dividends.     Buyers have the edge in this market, it is a great time to use it to their advantage.
